About
I’m Mike Ryrie, a saxophonist and DJ. Music has been a constant in my life, always taking me in new directions. Jazz, funk and soul are as much a part of it as blues, Latin and electronica. I love moving between these worlds and discovering new connections.
My musical journey has taken me to stages across Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France and Italy, as well as England, Israel and Africa. As a saxophonist, I play in a variety of line-ups, from intimate settings to larger stages with a full band.
Behind the decks, another side of my music comes into play. Together with my good friend and DJ partner Patrick Gisler, I bring electronic music and saxophone together as Audio Tribe. I also explore this combination in my own DJ sets. The interplay of live music and beats draws me in just as much as the immediate groove of a jazz-funk band.
Zurich is home. It is where I completed my music degree at the Zurich School of Music. Alongside my band projects, I lead the jam session at Amboss Rampe and organise band workshops. Above all, music is about connecting with people.
